On October 29, Eva Sternfeld participated in a seminar for peach farmers in Pinggu District in Beijing’s north east, at the invitation of the Beijing Yichen Fruit and Vegetable Production and Marketing Cooperative. Topic of the event was the improvement of agricultural product safety by introducing quality standards and competitiveness of ecologically produced fruits.
The seminar was attended by about 80 farmers. After an introduction by Ms. Zhang Shuqin, the general manager of the cooperative, and speeches by representatives of the Pinggu District agricultural bureau, several experts from science and enterprises were invited to share their insights with the farmers. Eva Sternfeld introduced the DCZ and reported about experiences from Germany with developing consumers’ demand for safe und trustworthy food.
