From 24-30 April 2023, the DCZ team went on a study tour through Shandong province to explore how digitalization is transforming agriculture and rural areas in China. Based on our observations from the trip, this report explores China’s drive towards digital agriculture from the national, county, and village level. It compares national policy goals and practical implementation on the ground and assesses the ways in which digitalization is transforming China’s agricultural sector and rural areas.
The report highlights the transformative impact of digitalization on farmland, rural labor, and data.
