Green development in agriculture was the focus of a Sino-German exchange organized by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) China on 16 July.
In dialogue with experts from the Center for China & Globalization (CCG) as well as representatives from policy and business, the event explored pathways towards the sustainable transformation of agri-food systems in Germany and China and highlighted opportunities for collaboration. DCZ expert Michaela Boehme presented recent achievements in Sino-German collaboration on sustainable agricultural development, highlighting soil health, protection of biodiversity, climate adaptation, as well as agroecology as important areas of mutual exchange and learning.
Next to researchers from CCG, other speakers included German Agriculture Counsellor Friederike Dörfler, representatives from Syngenta Group and Bayer, as well as specialists on carbon neutrality and circular economy.
The event was moderated by Victor Gao from CCG and Johann Furhmann from KAS.
