The Institute of Rural Development at Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ZAAS) (Institute of Agricultural Natural Resources and Regional Planning) was founded in 1979, with its two latest affiliates, the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural and Rural Planning and the Zhejiang Agronomist College being established in 2018. The institute comprises 42 staff members working across 6 research groups. Its primary focus is on research concerning agriculture, rural development, and farmers, as well as agricultural natural resources planning and creative agriculture. Additionally, it provides consultancy to decision-makers on issues related to rural economic policy, development strategy, and structural reform. The institute also plays a significant role in disseminating scientific information through its journals and offers services such as rural planning consultancy, training, and investment and performance evaluation.
