On 16 June, DCZ Managing Director Jürgen Ritter attended a Product Promotion Event in Frankfurt, organized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and led by Department Director Mr. Jiang Gang. Mr. Ritter contributed to the event with a welcome address.
In his opening speech, Director Jiang Gang introduced Sichuan Province as a major agricultural powerhouse in China, playing a vital role in ensuring national food security while offering a rich variety of characteristic food products. Looking ahead to the Sichuan Agricultural Expo in September, he also emphasized that the 11th Sino-German Agricultural Week will be held under the umbrella of this Expo.
A total of 16 agricultural enterprises from Sichuan showcased their diverse range of local products. Nearly 100 participants had the opportunity to taste these products and learn more through presentations by five producers. Topics included the national demonstration zone for modern agriculture in Nanchong, caviar farming, silk production on a family-run farm, and products made from konjac and ramie. Representatives from 38 German companies took part in follow-up B2B talks.
Prior to the promotion event, the Sichuan delegation held a meeting hosted by Frederik Tipp, Head of International Projects at DLG, at DLG headquarters. The meeting provided both sides with an opportunity to explore potential cooperation and trade opportunities.
Sven Gehlhaar, Managing Director of IAK Agrar Consulting, and Anja Molek from the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) also participated in both events.
On the sidelines of the promotion event, Jürgen Ritter and Director Jiang Gang took the opportunity to discuss preparations for the upcoming Sino-German Agricultural Week in the context of the Sichuan Agricultural Expo this September.
