The China Digital Village Development Report (2019–2025), released by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) in September 2026, reviews developments in rural digital infrastructure and the application of digital technologies in agriculture and rural areas.
The report covers rural connectivity, smart agriculture, digital commerce and public services. By 2025, rural internet penetration had reached 69.5%, while more than 3.5 million BeiDou agricultural machinery terminals and 300,000 agricultural drones had been deployed.
Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), China aims to further integrate artificial intelligence, agricultural data systems and digital technologies into agricultural production and rural development.
