Sarah Sensen

Since 2010, Sarah Sensen has been working on plant genetic resources at the Information and Coordination Centre for Biological Diversity at the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE). 

As expert from the Information and Coordination Centre for Biological Diversity, she has served extensively in various national and international roles. Within the European Cooperation Program on genetic resources, she is the EURISCO National Inventory Focal Point for Germany, and member of the working groups on on-farm conservation and management as well as wild species conservation in genetic reserves. 

At the national level, she runs the office for the Advisory and Coordination Committee for Genetic Resources for agricultural and landscaping cultural plants at the German Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL). She further oversees the development and management of the National Inventory of Plant Genetic Resources and serves as an expert on crop seed imports from third countries. 

Sarah holds a degree (Diplom) in botany and has made her work public in various academic articles and public lectures.
