The Agricultural Genomics Institute Shenzhen (AGIS)– 深圳农业基因组研究所 is a government-supported research organization focused on agricultural genomics, molecular breeding in agricultural biology, and the agriculture and food metagenome. It employs over 500 academic staff and has established several innovation platforms, including the Key Laboratory of Genome Analysis of MARA. AGIS has joint laboratories with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Syngenta, and the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University.
It also conducts international cooperation projects with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rothamsted Research, and Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen.
