The Agriculture Information Institute (AII) – 农业信息研究所 was established through the merger of the former Intelligence Institute of CAAS (founded in 1957), the Library (established in 1957), the Computer Application Center (established in 1981), and the Agricultural Macro-Research Center (established in 1992). AII serves as the national agricultural science-technology documentation center, housing the National Agricultural Library with approximately 2.1 million books and journals. The Agricultural Information Service Technology Key Laboratory of MARA is affiliated with AII. The Institute also functions as the National Agricultural Science Data Sharing Center.
AII has 20 divisions and a staff of 260. Its research fields focus on the application of ICT in agriculture, agricultural information management, and agricultural information analysis.
