China Meteorological Administration (CMA)

The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) – 中国气象局 is responsible for formulating policies, legal and regulatory frameworks, and long-term plans related to meteorological services, including weather forecasts and services for disaster prevention. CMA has developed specialized meteorological services for agriculture, transportation, water resources, and other sectors. It organizes major meteorological research projects, including those related to climate change observations. CMA manages international cooperation in meteorology and participates in activities of the World Meteorological Organization.

CMA also provides agro-meteorological services tailored to different fields of agriculture. The Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, which is affiliated with CMA, is one of China’s key research institutions studying climate change and its impact on agriculture.
