The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization (CAAM) – 中国农业机械话科学研究院, established in 1956, has developed a robust research infrastructure, including one national key laboratory, two national engineering laboratories, two national engineering technology centers, and three national quality supervision and inspection centers. It is a strategic alliance for technological innovation in the agricultural equipment industry and leads national innovation strategic alliances such as the Material Production Science and Technology Innovation Alliance. Additionally, it serves as a supporting unit for the drafting of national key R&D plans.
The institute focuses on agricultural machinery, including field operation machinery, harvest and postharvest processing machinery, water-saving irrigation equipment, and facility agriculture equipment. It also specializes in food processing technologies, such as those for processing potato products, slaughter technology, refrigeration and preservation equipment, oil processing equipment, fruit and vegetable preservation and processing equipment, technical equipment for noodle production, and agricultural products and food quality testing technology.
