The College of Biological Sciences (CBS) was established in 1984 and currently consists of four departments: the Department of Plant Sciences, the Department of Zoology and Animal Physiology, the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
CBS hosts several key research facilities, including the Life Science Laboratory, the State Key Laboratory for Agro-biotechnology, the State Key Laboratory for Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) Key Laboratory for Agro-microbial Resource Utilization.
The college has a faculty of 155 members.
