The Fishery Engineering Research Institute (FERI) of CAFS – 渔业工程研究所, established in Beijing in 1978, is the only research institution in China dedicated to fishery engineering research. The institute undertakes critical, basic, and directional scientific and technological tasks in the field of fishery engineering and equipment. It plays a key role in supporting the fishery engineering and technology efforts of relevant departments within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and serves as a technical service unit for the Fisheries Engineering Professional Committee of the Chinese Fisheries Society.
The Fishery Engineering Research Institute currently employs 80 staff members, with 69 on active duty, including 22 individuals holding senior professional titles.
