The Fishery Machinery and Instrument Research Institute (FMIRI) of CAFS – 渔业机械仪器研究所, established in May 1963, is the only research institution in China dedicated to applied basic research and key technology development in the field of fishery equipment and engineering. Located in Shanghai, the institute focuses on the research and development of technology related to fishery machinery and instrumentation.
FMIRI currently employs more than 153 people, including 145 scientific and technical personnel, with 48 staff members holding associate-senior or higher professional and technical titles. The institute is organized into eight key scientific research departments:
