The Haikou Experimental Station of CATAS – 海口实验站 was established in 2002 and has evolved over time to include the Banana Research Institute (since 2008) and the Tropical Fruits Institute – 热带果树研究所 (since 2013). The station focuses on conducting technical experiments related to planting, with research areas including the application of new varieties of banana, mango, pineapple, and other tropical fruits. In addition to its research activities, the station provides training and technical services for farmers on tropical agricultural technologies. The station currently employs 72 people, including 18 senior scientists.
