The Zhanjiang Experimental Station (ZES) of CATAS – 湛江实验站 was founded in 1979 and focuses on tropical feed, livestock, and aquaculture research. The station has three research laboratories and a total of 48 employees, including 7 senior scientists. ZES conducts technical trials on tropical farming, new varieties of tropical crops, and serves as a demonstration center for tropical agricultural technologies.
