The College of Biosystems, Engineering and Food Science (BEFS) at Zhejiang University was established in 1999 and comprises two departments and five research institutes. The college has 148 faculty members, including 41 full professors, and is home to 374 undergraduate students, 464 postgraduate students, and 24 international students.
BEFS has established strong cooperative relationships with several leading institutions, including Cornell University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), the University of California at Davis, Purdue University, the University of Maryland, Michigan State University, Iowa State University, Kyoto University, and McGill University. It also collaborates with government organizations such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
A series of agreements on cooperative education and exchange programs have been signed with key partners, including Michigan State University, UIUC, Cornell University, and Purdue University, fostering academic exchanges, collaborative research, and student mobility.
