The College of Economics and Management at South China Agricultural University (SCAU) evolved from the former College of Agriculture of National Sun Yat-sen University and the College of Agriculture of the private Lingnan University, both of which had a strong focus on agricultural economics education. The college is recognized for its academic programs in agricultural economic management, agricultural and forestry economic management, and finance, particularly within Guangdong Province. It has 142 teaching staff, including 112 professional teachers, with 34 holding the rank of professor and 52 serving as associate professors.
