The Edible Oil Research Institute of Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1984. It mainly carries out the collection and preservation of oil and spice germplasm resources, the screening, identification, and utilization of excellent germplasm and genes, as well as the research and promotion of variety-supporting technologies. It is the supporting unit of the National Rapeseed and Soybean Industry Technology System and the Southwest Mountain Oil Crop Observation and Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture. The institute has 54 employees.
