The Guizhou Provincial Fruit Tree Research Institute of Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences is located in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (Xiaohe). The institute was founded in 1956 and has 69 employees. The institute mainly focuses on dragon fruit, apple, and citrus, and actively develops and researches other characteristic high-quality fruits. It also conducts research on physiology, biochemistry, cultivation, seedling development, pest control, new variety selection and breeding, as well as storage and preservation, and processing.
