The Guizhou Soil Fertilizer Research Institute (Guizhou Provincial Ecological Agriculture Engineering and Technology Research Centre, Guizhou Provincial Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment) of Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1978. It mainly conducts scientific research on soil fertilizers, agricultural resources, and the environment.
The scope of its business covers the research and evaluation of the sustainable use of agricultural resources, pollution control and prevention technology, sustainable nutrient management in agriculture, agricultural standardization of nutrient regulation, water conservation, the development of new types of fertilizers and microbial preparations in agriculture, the construction of standardized production technology systems in agriculture, testing and evaluation of agricultural resources, environmental quality, and the quality of agricultural products. The institute also demonstrates and promotes new products and supporting agricultural technologies. It is the only scientific research institution in Guizhou Province focusing on the rational use of agricultural resources and agricultural environmental protection as its main research objectives. The institute has 53 employees.
The Institute consists of the Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer Laboratory, Land and Soil Laboratory, Agricultural Resource Utilization and Environment Laboratory, Natural Resource and Ecological Management Laboratory, and the Agricultural Resource and Environment Testing and Evaluation Center. There is one ministerial-level field observation experiment station, three provincial-level field observation bases, one provincial-level engineering technology research center, and one institutional-level agricultural resources and environment testing center.
