The Hunan Institute of Microbiology at the Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (HUNAAS) was founded in 1956 and specializes in both fundamental and applied research in agricultural microbiology. The institute employs 180 staff members and plays a key role in microbial strain resource collection, introduction, preservation, identification, and functional evaluation.
The institute provides scientific consultation and technical support for Hunan’s agricultural biotechnology sector, including planting and breeding industries.
