The Institute for Plant Protection at Qinghai Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences (QAAFS) has two scientific research platforms:
- Xining Crop Pest Biological Science Observation Experimental Station
- Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Agricultural Pests
At present, the institute maintains close business contacts with more than 10 countries including the United States, Britain, Australia, Japan, South Korea, etc., and has established long-term and stable cooperative relations with many domestic scientific research institutions and colleges and universities. The institute currently has 20 employees.
The Institute of Plant Protection focuses on the mechanism of crop pests and diseases, monitoring and early warning and integrated management, weed biology and management, and the use of biocontrol microorganisms, and conducts research and integration on integrated management technologies for crop pests.
