Institute of Agro-products Processing and Technology

Founded in 2009, the Institute of Agro-products Processing and Technology of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) consists of the Science and Technology Management Office, Science and Technology Industry Center, Fruit and Vegetable Storage and Processing Research Center, Preservation and Logistics Research Center, Fermented Food Research Center, Grain and Oil Processing Research Center, and Functional Food Research Center.

This unit focuses on Sichuan fruits, Sichuan cuisine, Sichuan grains and oils, Sichuan tea, Sichuan medicines, and drying cold chain logistics. It mainly carries out post-harvest commercial processing of fruits and vegetables, drying cold chain logistics of agricultural products, fermented food processing, deep processing of grains and oils, and medicine and food integration. The institute also works on the research, promotion, and application of processing technologies such as source and nutrition, health product development, and efficacy evaluation, as well as the research, development, construction, and application management of related facilities and equipment.
