The Institute of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Guizhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1941. The institute currently employs 120 staff members. It holds metrology qualification certification (CMA) from the Guizhou Provincial Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, with detection indicators covering four categories: feed (including feed additives), livestock and poultry breeding wastewater, organic fertilizer, and veterinary drug residues. The institute conducts applied basic research and technology demonstration, as well as the promotion of subjects such as livestock and poultry germplasm resource innovation, new variety breeding, fine breed breeding, animal nutrition and feed processing, animal disease prevention and control, and livestock product quality and safety.
