Established in 2017, the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) at Peking University (PKU) – 北京大学现代农学院 is an independent academic and research institution dedicated to advancing world-class studies in cutting-edge agricultural sciences. Its primary focus includes interdisciplinary teaching and research in Molecular Agrobiology, Agricultural and Development Economics, Intelligent Agriculture, and Food Safety & Health. SAAS seeks to become a high-end talent cultivation hub, integrating fundamental theories, industrial applications, and strategic policies to support China’s rural development.
The school’s mission encompasses providing core technologies, key scientific insights, policy advice, and talent essential for modern agricultural advancements. SAAS is organized into four academic departments: Molecular Agrobiology, Agricultural and Development Economics, Intelligent Agriculture, and Food Safety & Health.
