South China Agricultural University (SCAU)

The South China Agricultural University (SCAU) – 华南农业大学, located in Guangzhou, traces its origins to the Guangdong Agricultural Experimental Station and Training Center, established in 1909. In 1952, the South China Agricultural College was founded through the merger of the Agricultural College of National Sun Yat-Sen University, the Agricultural College of Lingnan University, and the Veterinary Medicine and Pest Pathology departments of Guangxi University. In 1984, it was officially renamed South China Agricultural University. SCAU offers 103 undergraduate programs, 120 master’s programs, 62 doctoral programs, and 11 post-doctoral research stations. The university employs 3,390 staff members, including 2,626 full-time teachers, and comprises 25 colleges and departments. It currently enrolls about 50,000 full-time students, of whom more than 37,000 are undergraduates and 12,000 are pursuing graduate studies.
