The Tea Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS) was founded in 1951. It is mainly engaged in the collection, protection, and utilization of tea germplasm resources and the breeding of new varieties, high-quality and efficient cultivation, and green prevention and control. The institute also focuses on research and achievement transformation in tea processing and equipment, biochemistry and health, product quality evaluation and inspection, comprehensive utilization, and new product development. It has 4 scientific research centers, 1 national observation and experiment station, 1 provincial key laboratory, and 3 tea germplasm resource nurseries. Currently, it has 63 employees.
