The Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ZAAS) – 浙江农业科学院 is a comprehensive agricultural research institution directly affiliated with the Zhejiang provincial government. Established in 1908, ZAAS is one of the earliest agricultural research institutes in China. The academy includes 18 research institutes that cover 139 research orientations across 28 disciplinary areas. Additionally, it houses several national and provincial research platforms, such as the State Key Laboratory for Managing Biotic and Chemical Threats to the Quality and Safety of Agro-products, and the National and Local Joint Engineering Center for Ornamental Crop Resources Development. ZAAS employs a total of 1,106 staff members, 953 of whom are scientists.
