The Longyan Campus of Fujian Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences was established in 2021. It is based on the Longyan Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Crop Research Institute of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The campus integrates scientific and technological resources from various professional institutes within the academy, the Longyan Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and Longyan College. It has established five research centers: the Research Center for Grain Crops, the Research Center for Economic Crops, the Research Center for Livestock and Poultry, the Research Center for Eco-Agriculture, and the Research Center for Digital Agriculture.
The Longyan Campus focuses on the region’s characteristic industries, including sweet potatoes, rice, peanuts, vegetables, livestock, medicinal plants, fruits, tea, potatoes, and flowers. Research efforts are directed toward crop variety improvement and innovation, as well as the development of water-saving, fertilizer-saving, and pesticide-saving technologies for green and efficient cultivation. The campus also conducts research on smart agricultural technologies.
