Haikou Crop Pest Observation and Experimental Station of MARA

The Haikou Crop Pest Observation and Experimental Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) focuses on the study of plant pest and disease mechanisms, monitoring and early warning systems, and integrated management techniques. Its research also covers agricultural pest quarantine and invasive species biology, pesticide chemistry and application, biological pest management using microorganisms and natural enemies, as well as weed biology and rodent management in Hainan.

Research areas of focus include winter melons, tropical vegetables, fruit and grain crops, and tropical cash crops, along with their associated pests and diseases. The station is dedicated to developing a scientific and technical service team to support these areas.

The station is equipped with advanced technology, including an Internet of Things (IoT) data acquisition and processing system, an automatic weather station, differential GPS positioning systems, and other specialized instruments.
