The Horticultural Research Institute of Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JXAAS) is located in Nanchang County, Chengbi Lake, with two bases in Nanchang County (Henggang base) and Gao’an base, covering a total area of more than 60 hectares. The Institute is mainly engaged in the collection, organization, evaluation, and utilization of germplasm resources of fruit trees, watermelon, tea, and other horticultural crops. It focuses on the selection, breeding, cultivation, fruit storage, preservation, processing, and other technology research and development, as well as horticultural science and technology demonstration and training.
The institute has 52 employees and five research departments:

- Deciduous Fruit Tree Research Office
- Tea Research Office
- Specialty Fruit Tree and Resource Research Office
Additionally, the institute has five scientific and technological innovation teams: citrus, kiwifruit, watermelon, tea, and specialty fruit species and germplasm resources. The following platforms belong to the institute:
