Institute of Agricultural Applied Microbiology

The Institute of Agricultural Applied Microbiology of Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JXAAS) was founded in 1971. The institute focuses on the collection, preservation, and evaluation of germplasm resources of edible fungi, breeding of new varieties, and research and demonstration of efficient cultivation technologies. Additionally, it works on the innovation and utilization of microbial germplasm resources in agricultural environments, comprehensive utilization of bulk agricultural wastes, research and demonstration of soil remediation technologies for energy plants, biological control, and integrated pest management for rice, oilseed rape, and potato crops, and biosafety evaluation of genetically modified rice.

The institute has three primary research directions: genetic breeding and efficient cultivation of edible fungi, energy and resource environment, and biological control. The institute employs 35 staff members.
