The Institute of Agricultural Quality Standards and Testing Technology (QSAT) of Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CQAAS) includes several key platforms, including the:

- MARA Laboratory for Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment
- National Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Laboratory

- National Agricultural Product Nutritional Quality Evaluation and Appraisal Organization for Famous, Special, and New Agricultural Products
- Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Vocational Skill Appraisal Station of MARA
The institute employs 31 staff members. Its main functions include the determination and evaluation of nutritional indicators, toxic and hazardous substance risk assessment, environmental testing and evaluation of origins, and research on new testing technologies. The institute is supported by three innovation teams focused on risk assessment, origin traceability, and quality analysis.
Since its establishment, the institute has undertaken several projects from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and municipal research projects. It has also led the formulation of 15 industry standards, 20 local standards, and secured 6 invention patents.
The Risk Assessment Laboratory is responsible for conducting risk assessment, monitoring, and communication related to agricultural product quality and safety in the region. Research at the institute focuses on mountain agricultural product quality and safety risk assessment and early warning, agricultural product residue risk analysis, nutritional function analysis and evaluation, mountain ecological environment risk analysis, and regional agricultural product quality safety control technologies.
