The Plant Protection Research Institute of Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences (JXAAS) was founded in 1975. The institute primarily focuses on testing major crop diseases in the province and conducting research, demonstration, and promotion of key technologies for the occurrence, prevention, and control of major crop diseases, insects, and grass pests in Jiangxi.
The institute has three research departments:
- Rice and Specialty Crops Disease Research Laboratory
- Vegetable Disease Research Laboratory
- Agricultural Insects Research Laboratory
In addition, the institute hosts the Nanchang Crop Pest Scientific Observatory of MARA and the Key Laboratory of Pest Control of Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
