The Agricultural Equipment Research Institute of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences is a leading research center in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region specializing in agricultural equipment and related technologies. Its work spans applied research, basic science, and public service in four key areas:
- equipment for controlled environment agriculture and resource environment
- equipment for specialty forestry and fruit production
- intelligent agricultural machinery
- equipment for livestock breeding
It manages seven national and regional research platforms under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), and the regional government, providing strong infrastructure for collaborative projects. The institute employs over 70 researchers, including PhD-level scientists, and maintains dedicated disciplinary teams.
It also publishes the journals Xinjiang Agricultural Mechanization (Chinese) and Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Science and Technology (Kazakh), offering channels for academic exchange.
