The Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences is Xinjiang’s only comprehensive research institute dedicated to agricultural soft science, rural big data, smart agriculture, technology transfer, and scientific information services. It focuses on:
- rural development strategy and policy
- agricultural and industrial economics
- data mining and monitoring
- digital agriculture
- decision-support systems
With 45 professional staff, including more than 20 senior researchers and 6 PhDs, the institute combines policy research with advanced data-driven approaches for agricultural modernization.
The institute hosts six major platforms, including the Xinjiang Service Sub-Center of the National Agricultural Science Data Sharing Center, the Xinjiang Rural Economic Big Data Research Center, and the Xinjiang Smart Agriculture Engineering Research Center.
