To ensure food security for an increasing population, agriculture faces great pressures to further intensify crop production while minimising negative environmental effects. This study looks at the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into agricultural management practices, assessing their impact on balancing agricultural production and environmental conservation.
The authors present a number of case studies from traditional Chinese integrated farming, including crop-fish systems, agro-forestry, intercropping, and crop rotation schemes.
