Lessons learned: Genetic diversity hotspots in Europe
This document discusses the conservation and sustainable management of genetic resources across forest, plant, and animal domains at the landscape level. It highlights the creation of “Landscape-based Genetic Diversity Centres” to efficiently conserve genetic resources and addresses the interconnections between agricultural, forest, and livestock biodiversity. The project includes case studies from five genetically diverse landscapes in Europe and beyond, showcasing practical management approaches and the dependencies between domains. The findings support the EU’s biodiversity and agricultural strategies.
