The College of Agriculture at Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) traces its origins back to the Agricultural Museum Section of Sanjiang Normal School, established in 1902, and the Agricultural Section of Jinling University, founded in 1914. The college currently has 146 full-time faculty members, including 80 professors and 51 associate professors.
The college is home to six national key laboratories and research centers, including the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetics and Germplasm Innovation and Utilization, the National Soybean Improvement Center, the National Center for Information Agriculture Engineering and Technology, the National Field Scientific Observatory for Rice Germplasm Resources, the National Soybean Biological Breeding Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration, and the China-Kenya Joint Laboratory of Crop Molecular Biology under the One Belt, One Road Initiative. In addition, the college operates 26 ministry- and provincial-level research platforms.
The college has extensive international collaborations, maintaining long-term cooperative relationships with over 30 universities and research institutions in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and other countries. It has established joint undergraduate programs, such as the “2+2” and “1+2+1” dual-degree programs, as well as summer and winter exchange programs with Cornell University, the University of California, Davis, Michigan State University, Wageningen University (Netherlands), the National University of Singapore, and Kyoto University (Japan).
