The history of the S&T platform dates back to 2015, when CAAS and DCZ signed their first Memorandum of Understanding. Ever since, the platform has successfully provided advice to German and Chinese researchers. It also implemented a series of activities such as conferences, study tours, and the Sino-German Agricultural Science days to promote exchange in agricultural sciences between both countries. The S&T platform works closely with research institutes operating under the umbrella of the CAAS as well as institutes affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA). On the German side, the S&T platform cooperates with Federal Research Institutes affiliated with the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and Leibniz Institutes related to agriculture and nutrition. Moreover, the platform has well established contacts to agricultural departments of various universities in both countries. The S&T platform is managed by the DCZ Science Dialogue and the CAAS Division for Bilateral Cooperation of the Department for International Cooperation.
